About Ascende

Child focused care. Specialist expertise.

Ascende Group is a children's residential care provider in Cumbria and Lancashire, combining nurturing care with therapeutic support and a clear focus on each young person's future.

Who we are

The name Ascende is Latin for to rise — and that is our purpose: to help children and young people rise to their potential, whatever their starting point.

We provide residential care for children aged 8 to 18 in small homes set in established communities across Cumbria and Lancashire. Our model is individual: care is tailored to each child, designed to nurture them, build confidence and prepare them — through education and a career pathway — for independent adult life.

We work in partnership with placing local authorities, social workers and families to deliver care that is safe, consistent and accountable.

Ascende is also built on shared ownership: every member of staff holds a vested equity stake in the company. It means the people caring for our children are genuinely invested in their success, and rewarded for the stability and commitment that matter most.
